I still haven’t been able to make it to the library to pick up a copy so here is another online edition.
The Mutant Project
I thought this would be a really interesting book to explore, especially in light of 2020. I’ve also just got done listening to the podcast Bad Batch so I’m really interested in medical information this year! We love science!
South to Freedom
Alice L. Baumgartner
Alright so I’ll admit it never really occurred to me that slaves running away from the South in the 1800s would also run to Mexico and other countries. So I think this will be a really great read to learn more about how slavery affected other parts of the world too.
I’ve always been fascinated by magic and the history of it. So I think this book sounds right up my alley. I also think it would be really good to read as a fantasy writer. When I was younger, I got a book that was a guide to science fiction and fantasy and it had some history and stuff about magic in it.
The Office of Historical Corrections
I’m trying to learn more about the BLM and combating racism this year so this sounds like another interesting book to help understand the situation better. I enjoy that it’s a collection of these things because racism can be so subtle sometimes! (I say that as a white author).
To Hold Up the Sky
I love a good collection of short stories! Especially science fiction, I have an older book of short story science fiction that I love to read. I haven’t heard of this author before so this will be interesting to check out.
I love the idea of a famous TV person defending a nerdy Queen online and then falling in love. This sounds like such a cute story and I’m here for it. It also sounds really familiar and I’m not sure if I already mentioned it here or somewhere else lately. I see so many books on Book Twitter honestly.
You Lucky Dog
I’m a sucker for any dog story especially one that involves romance. I’m trying to branch out into other genres so I was excited to see another dog book mentioned on BookPage this month. I think the idea of mixing up dogs is interesting because honestly sometimes its so hard to tell dogs apart unless you live with them!
