Hello friends,

The last couple of months were pretty busy for me although I’ve been trying to pick up some hobbies again. I realized I haven’t blogged in a while again even though I have the new laptop and I’ve been stuck at home with shin splints and now a minor toe nail removal.

However, I have been reading some books and thought I would share which ones I read!

In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin

by Erik Larson

I’ve been working on finishing this book for a while and finally did it. I picked it up at a booksale last year. I really like Erik Larson as a history writer, his books are still pretty entertaining for a non fiction book.

I started reading this one because I wanted to see if there was any parallels between what’s happening recently in America with Nazi Germany like people were saying on Twitter and other places.

I’ll write up a full review for this book later, but if you like history and WWII, I thought this book was a good read.

Heir of Fire

(Throne of Glass #3)

by Sarah J. Maas

Do you ever start to read a book and then get the feeling that you’ve already read it but can’t remember when?

That’s the feeling I got the entire time I was reading this. I’m pretty sure I actually already read it at some point, but I cannot for the life of me remember when I did. The main reason I remember it is because the parts of her training to use her powers and the ending with the Witches I almost totally remembered.

I still read through most of it though since it’s clearly been a while and now I’m borrowing the next book from a friend who has the whole series. I’m glad she does because I can never get the Sarah J Mass book I want at the library.

The Ever Cruel Kingdom

(The Never Tilting World #2)

by Rin Chupeco

I really enjoyed the first book last year when I read it and quickly bought the next book. However, I didn’t read it right away because I got distracted reading another book. I’m actually still in the middle of reading this one, but I love how unique this world is. Although my biggest critique is the timeline of events from the Breaking to present time in the books.

So I’m still in the middle of reading that book and honestly a couple others as well. I have a couple of books I might end up DNFing that I’m not mentioning here but I might also read them anyways because I bought them.

Once I finish these current books, I plan on going to the library and getting some more books to rent.
