I remembered suddenly the other day that November is coming up really fast and that means Nanowrimo.
I tried to participate in Camp Nanowrimo in July and got a decent way into my book before being sidetracked by moving.
So I have a couple of different ideas I’m playing around with for this fall.
The first one is to work on the book I started during July, I’ve been working on it here and there.
My second thought is to work on an existing story, like A Star So Dark. I’m about 30,000 words into that one so far I believe.
I have several other story ideas I’ve been batting around but haven’t really gotten to behind a couple chapters. Several, I need to rewrite because the premise or main characters changed.
I think though I will keep working on my current idea, A Desolation of Angels, because I’m not very far into it. I’ll just take a couple days off here and there for the amount of words I’ve already written for it.
However I do have some things I need to work through I think in the meantime.
- Spotify playlist
- Pinterest Inspo board
- Character names
- World building
I have a rough idea of what the plot is, but I think I have a lot of world building that needs to be done.
Hopefully some of it will come through as I’m writing the story, but I’m going to try and work on some of it before hand.
I’m hoping maybe a couple of days I can write more than I need to so that I don’t have to work as hard on other days when I’m really busy. Since it’s November, I’ll be doing a lot of traveling to go back home for Thanksgiving.
Originally this story was supposed to have more science fiction elements in it, but the more I play around with the idea, the more it’s turning into straight up fantasy.
So we’ll see what ends up happening genre wise.
I’m really excited about this because it was actually inspired by my other story. However, in this one I wanted to focus on a similar idea but from another perspective.
If you’re going to participate in Nanowrimo this year, what are you planning on writing?
